It’s been three months since Yuki was born, and I’m emerging from a zombie-like existence. She finally stopped waking up every two hours—what a relief! I even had six hours of sleep without disturbance this week. I’m a whole new person.
Other than feeling human again, here are life’s little pleasures which made me stop and thank my lucky stars.
Simple Joys is a blog series where I’ll be sharing small happenings or objects which brought a smile to my face.
Imperfect weather
Us Aussies, we are absolutely spoilt when it comes to weather. Even on a gloriously sunny day in winter, a bit of wind means the local playground is deserted.
Scribbling on plans for our forever home
We are beyond excited to be working with an architect to design our new home. Even at this early stage, I can’t resist the urge to scribble in furniture layouts!
Birthday blooms
I turned 33 last month and my ever so thoughtful husband surprised me with a huge bouquet of pink and purple flowers.
Another perspective
Lying down on Umi’s new trampoline has become something I look forward to. Not sure if it’s the delighted toddler’s squeals, or the feeling of weightlessness as you bounce up and down, but I swear the sky looks so much more blue from this perspective.
Hello there, Janome!
After three months of maternity leave, I have dusted off the old Janome. I’m so happy to have the mental clairty (thanks to more sleep) to start sewing again. My first project is a jumper skirt for Umi’s second birthday party.
This weekend, I’ll be driving up to Sydney and no doubt stopping at Burke Street Bakery for a yummy breakfast. I’d love to know what you’re up to, so mention me on Instagram or Facebook if you’re keen to share 🙂
